Privacy Policy

CAMO (Cosmetology Association of Minority Owners) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

Information we collect

How we use it

How we share it

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us operate (e.g., hosting, payment, identity/business verification, email) under confidentiality obligations, or where required by law. Verified salons may appear on the public Find-a-Salon map only with the information you choose to list.

Data security & retention

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encryption of sensitive identifiers and restricted access to verification documents. We retain information as long as your account is active or as needed for legal and operational purposes, then delete or anonymize it.

Your choices

You may access, update, or request deletion of your information by contacting us at joincamo.org@gmail.com. You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time.

Terms of Use

Membership

Membership is open to eligible cosmetology professionals, salon owners, and brand partners. Certain features (posting in the community, enrolling in classes, certification, and public map listing) require an active, verified account. CAMO may approve, decline, suspend, or revoke membership or verification at its discretion.

Acceptable use

Community & moderation

CAMO moderators and administrators may edit, remove, lock, or pin content, approve or reject groups, and mute or ban members who violate these terms, to keep the community safe.

Certification

The CAMO Compliant Salon™ designation reflects a member's attestation and CAMO's review against published standards. It is not a guarantee of legal compliance; members remain responsible for their own legal, tax, and licensing obligations.

Fees

Membership is free during launch. Paid plans may be introduced in the future with advance notice; any fees and billing terms will be presented before you are charged.

Disclaimers

CAMO provides information and community resources for educational purposes and does not provide legal, tax, or financial advice. Consult a qualified professional for your specific situation. The platform is provided "as is" without warranties to the extent permitted by law.
